Wildcat & Dinohistoria

The box these cards came in were well presented, bright colourful and eye catching. There was concise information and pictures on the outside of the box which tells the purchaser exactly what is inside without going into unnecessary detail. The cards are durable and easy to handle.

The product consists of 2 card games: the first featured pictures and facts of ‘big cats’ and the second dinosaurs. The rules themselves are easy to follow and similar for both games but can be adapted depending on ages of the people playing – this enables adults and young to play together which is a strong point. The format itself is somewhere between the classic ‘follow the suit’ played with a regular pack of cards and Top Trumps. It was played with an 8 year old and 2 adults.

As an adult I felt the games missed a trick – the facts and pictures weren’t required to play the game – just numbers and colours – this means a young child can play but the educational opportunity for older children was lacking. However my 8 year old daughter enjoyed it and has so far asked to play 2 nights on the trot.

Dinosaurs and boys tend to go together like chocolate and sticky fingerprints – not so in our household – my 8 year old daughter absolutely loved playing the Dinohistoria game. The format combines a couple of other well known card games – after all who could invent a totally new card game after all this time – but because of that it is easy to get into the game and master the basics really quickly. Unusually, each hand can be played between adults and young children – which is a big plus – I can’t think of many games where the inevitable ‘blind eye’ comes into effect in order to keep a bottom lip from wobbling.

The Wildcat game is similar in format and again can be adapted to cater for all ages. Lovely bright illustrations and photos as well as a wealth of facts.

A thumbs up for both games.

Wildcat

A great fun and entertaining card for the family and better still very educational. As well as being able to play pairs or snap the cards also have great pictures of wildcats and great information about each one on them so is a great learning tool to find out more about these amazing animals.

These are a great fun way of teaching young children without making them feel like they are at school and we had great fun playing with them.

I would recommend these.

Dinohistoria

I was really pleased when asked to review this product as it looked really interesting.

The box came in a cellophane wrapper which was easy to remove. The box shows the name very clearly and is decorated with a dinosaur image and the slogan ‘Family Fun With Bite’ which is certainly true. Inside the box were clear and easy to follow instructions and 56 cards.

The cards all feature a different prehistoric creature from Diplodocus’ to Pteranodon’s. Each card is bright, colourful and has a fact about each creature. The game is aged a 7+ years and is suitable for between 2 and 6 players.

The aim of the game is to have no cards left at the end. My husband and children all enjoyed this game very much and will certainly be playing again.

The game is suitable for both boys and girls.
